In today's scenario of work culture, a laptop has become an essential tool to execute work anywhere
and at any point of time. The compact design, the availability of all standard features of a desktop
computer and off course the advantage of carrying it from one place to another, have made this
device so popular among all age and work groups. Like a desktop computer, your mobile tool can
also be upgraded in order to provide excellent speed and performance. Upgrading the RAM or
memory in a laptop can surely increase the performance level of your machine. Let us discuss the
simple steps about how you can increase your laptop’s RAM.
Generally today’s, peoples use a laptop for not only doing mere word-processing or internet
surfing. Rather, they use it for many other activities like, for playing high end games, for designing
websites, as a virtual studio to record stuffs or doing other such things were the speed and
performance of the machine matters. Therefore, you must upgrade your machines memory module
to get better performance results. You can consider following few steps while enhancing your
portable machine's memory.
1. First, you need to know the type of memory that the machine is using. Consult your owner's
manual in order to get the idea. As of now, DDR2 & 3 is the type that most machine use.
Make sure you brought the right type memory that has the processing speed compatible with
the current ones otherwise, it will not work.
2. Consult your laptop's user guide to determine the total amount of memory that your machine
can handle. Stuffing your machine with lots of slots will not help until it is recommendable
and compatible. You also need to understand the fact that buying a speedy RAM will
not affect your machines performance at all if it is not compatible with your machines
configuration.
3. To install the RAM inside your machine, first switch it off and remove all the wired
connection attached to it like, speakers, headphones, sub mouse etc. Now you need to
open the back cover so that you have an easy access inside the machine. Go through the
instruction manual that came along with the memory in order to understand where the
memory is to be installed. In today's system board, it is generally installed on DIMM or
SIMM modules or SOIDMM modules in notebooks.
4. Cautiously push the memory stick inside the dedicated slots to extent that it fits properly on
the board. After inserting the memory stick, you are done but need to re-check things a little
to ensure that there is no loose connection on board.
